Uber is rolling out ChatGPT Work to more than 30,000 employees after an initial pilot of 1,000, according to OpenAI’s October 22 announcement. The deployment extends an agent platform for research, documents, analysis, and workflows across workplace applications.
The scale makes this an adoption milestone, but access is different from demonstrated productivity. Connected email, calendars, files, and chat can make an agent useful while also making permission design and the review of external actions more consequential.
The next evidence to watch is sustained usage and measured task outcomes across departments. A company-wide launch will matter most if teams can show time saved, errors avoided, and controls that work during ordinary daily use.
