Google Cloud adds OpenAI models to its enterprise menu

Google Cloud and OpenAI are bringing OpenAI models and Codex workflows into Model Garden. Google says the initial models are entering private preview for selected enterprise customers, with broader integrations still to come.

The deal makes distribution a separate competitive layer from model development. Customers may be able to compare rival models while retaining a familiar cloud environment for access controls, governance, and infrastructure, rather than moving an entire application to another platform.

For engineering and procurement teams, availability is only the first milestone. Watch preview eligibility, regional support, pricing, and which features reach general availability before treating the announcement as an immediate migration path.
