MiniMax lowers the price of its agent-focused Flash model

MiniMax’s M3.1 Flash release adds another source of price pressure to the agent model market. The company’s October 19 announcement lists API prices of $0.15 per million input tokens and $0.60 per million output tokens, alongside claimed speed and capability improvements.

MiniMax positions the model for coding, computer use, and complex workplace tasks. Its reported benchmark results and lower task costs are vendor claims, and inexpensive tokens do not necessarily mean an inexpensive completed workflow if retries or long trajectories increase.

For developers comparing providers, the useful metric is cost per correctly completed task at an acceptable latency. Watch independent evaluations and test the model on the same tools and permissions used by the application before changing production routing.
