TechCrunch reporting that the maker of the non-text AI model Jev reached a $7.5 billion valuation weeks after launch shows investor appetite moving beyond language models alone.
That matters because many valuable AI decisions are not naturally text tasks. They involve structured signals, actions, rankings, sensor data, visual inputs, and business processes that need models optimized for decisions rather than conversation.
The next test is adoption. A high valuation can validate a category, but non-text models will have to prove they outperform custom systems in real workflows where accuracy, latency, and integration matter.
